Welcome to the Museums in the Rendsburg Cultural Centre

Construction on the ‘Hohe Arsenal’ (royal armoury), in the immediate vicinity of Paradeplatz, was begun in 1695. For centuries thereafter, the three-winged Baroque complex designed by the fortress architect Domenico Pelli served as an armoury for military requirements before it was handed over as an urban cultural centre for civil use in 1989. There are two types of museums in the cultural centre united under the roof of the armoury on the Paradeplatz in Rendsburg. The Printing Museum occupies the ground floor of the west and north wings while the Rendsburg Historical Museum is situated on the first floor.

The museums share a cafeteria in the entrance area, which functions as a quiet rest area, and a special exhibition space on the first floor that features changing presentations on art and cultural history.

This unique combination of technological and cultural history makes every visit a unique experience!
